Andre Ayew Donates Money To U-20 World Cup Winning Coach Sellas Tetteh Who Has Been Chasing GFA for Monies Owed Him
Black Stars Captain Andre Ayew has made a donation to 2009 U-20 World Cup winning coach Sellas Tetteh. The donation was done on his behalf by his mum Mrs Maha Ayew and spokesperson Fiifi Tackie.
Tetteh, who has been unwell for some time, disclosed to Sports Obama TV in an interview last month that he has been chasing the Ghana Football Association and Ministry of Sports for bonuses owed him since 2009.
Sellas Tetteh has disclosed in the interview with SportsObama TV that he has had more works for Ghana National teams but not just the under-20 side. He mentioned he was part of the senior team that went played the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
“Many people mention the under-20 but I was also part of the Senior National Team. At a point in time I was the head coach in 2010 and I was part of the technical team for the 2010 Black Stars World Cup success[ in South Africa]”, he said.
The coach further mentioned he still has a good relationship with a lot of the boys who won the under-20 World Cup for Ghana, especially Andre Ayew.
…as for him [Andre Ayew] he knows how I helped him so he doesn’t play, he doesn’t joke with me at all”, he added
With monies owed the technical handlers he said; “Technical team, when we won the World Cup, they didn’t pay us any money and there was a document for it. There was a company that was… they called me and discuss with me. I went to discuss that with Kurt Okraku that at least they were supposed to give us $4,000”
Ghana won the first FIFA U-20 World Cup under the management of Coach Sellas Tetteh.
