Build A Monument For Him In One Of The Stadia Instead - Charles Taylor Says As GFA Plans To Retire Black Stars Jersey Number 7 To Honour Atsu
One of the few players who had the opportunity to play for Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Charles Kweku Bismark Taylor Asampong has added his voice to the plans to retire Black Stars Jersey number 7 in tribute to the late Christian Atsu.
According to Charles Taylor, it would not make sense since for a long time now, Atsu has been ignored for representing Black Stars of Ghana.
"Retiring Black Stars Jersey Number 7 in honour of Atsu is needless! When was the last time he was invited to the National team?” He said in Angel TV.
He added that, it will be prudent to build monument in any of the national stadia in his honor of Atsu rather than retiring a whole jersey number.
We can build a monument in one of our stadia to honour his good deeds" - Charles Taylor on GFA's plan to retire number 7.
Christian Atsu's agent confirmed the player has been found dead for being trapped under the rubble following the 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Turkey on February 6, 2023.
